From our inception in March 2010 and based in San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago, LADNEK LIMITED has committed to set itself apart from the way the rest of the world sees sanitation and hygiene. About Our Director
Sanitation isn’t something people readily think about, but one young man has worked to change the way people view sanitation and hygiene services.
Established around ten years ago, San Fernando-based Ladnek Limited has been offering a wide range of facilities and janitorial services to Corporate entities for example the Banking Sector, Shipping and Electrical Companies. Now, that market base has increased to the Financial Sector, Educational Sector and the Food Industry among others.
Managing Director at Ladnek, Kendal St Louis, says the idea to get into the sanitation and hygiene business was something he toyed with while he was employed in the Construction Sector.
“Around ten years ago, I used to work in the Construction Industry and I would observe that the big companies would contract a cleaning service and I would look at their operations…it was just intriguing to me and I started reading up on it, and it looked like it was something I could do.” It was only a matter of time before St Louis decided to make a serious decision about his new found interest. He saved money and from there he was able to buy equipment and register the business.
Kendal recounts, “My first job I actually got – I was too scared to do it on my own – and I had to subcontract it out. I observed how the company did it because they were more reputable than I was. I employed myself as a worker while they were working for me and got more hands on training.”Now, Ladnek is internationally recognized and is a member of by ISSA, GBAC and BSCAI which specializes in services like carpet shampooing, hygiene and bacteria testing, stripping and polishing floors, upholstery cleaning; with the hygiene services offering a range of air fresheners for washrooms and homes, and sanitary bins for female washrooms.
While St Louis has gained experience and a greater understanding of the business, he continues to expand his knowledge base and the work that Ladnek does through research in the industry, attended trade show conventions and learnt how the larger companies get advice on increasing sales. St Louis also states, ” I am proud to say that I was able to engage some distributors for licensing on different cleaning products.”
The Company does not manufacture any of the chemicals at the moment however all chemicals are locally manufactured. When asked about putting a cost to the services, Kendal states , “It’s something where you have to see the nature of the work before you can actually put a price to it. All our estimates are free and our quotations are given without obligation.“
